AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TRAFFIC ALERT SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Transportation to establish a state-wide electronic mail "Traffic Alert System", for the rapid notification of construction projects or other events that are expected to cause congestion on the state's major highways.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require the Department of Transportation to establish a state-wide traffic alert system to notify the public of any construction projects or other events that are likely to disrupt traffic on the state's major highways.
