AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT MAY BE USED TO TRACK THE LOCATION AND MOVEMENT OF A PERSON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit the use of an electronic device that is utilized to track the location and movement of another person unless such other person has consented to be tracked by the device, and (2) provide that if a person has consented to be tracked by an electronic device, the term of such consent may not exceed five years. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect the privacy of state residents.
