AN ACT CONCERNING CRATES USED FOR VEAL CALVES, BREEDING PIGS AND EGG-LAYING HENS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prescribe the specifications for crates utilized for veal calves, breeding pigs and egg-laying hens such that said animals have adequate room to extend their limbs, turn around and stand.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent animal cruelty, improve food safety, protect the environment and support family farms.
