AN ACT EXTENDING THE TIME FRAME FOR THE ADOPTION OF FRACKING WASTE REGULATIONS TO JULY 1, 2027.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 22a-472 of the general statutes be amended to extend the time frame after which the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection may submit regulations to the General Assembly concerning hydraulic fracturing waste from July 1, 2017, to July 1, 2027.
Statement of Purpose:
To extend the existing prohibition on the acceptance, receipt, collection, storage, treatment, transfer and disposal of hydraulic fracturing waste in the state in order to protect the environment and public health.
