AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH CARRIERS TO INFORM THE COVERED PERSON WHOSE MATTER IS UNDER EXTERNAL REVIEW THAT THE CARRIER COMPENSATES THE INDEPENDENT REVIEW ORGANIZATION CONDUCTING THE REVIEW.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require that a health carrier inform a covered person whose matter is subject to an external review that the health carrier is required to pay the independent review organization for the cost of conducting the review.
Statement of Purpose:
To inform covered persons whose matters are subject to external review that the health carrier compensates the independent review organization conducting the review.
