AN ACT CONCERNING AN ACUITY-BASED MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT SYSTEM FOR NURSING HOME SERVICES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 17b-340d of the general statutes be amended to phase in a Medicaid reimbursement system for nursing home services that is based on matters, including, but not limited to: (1) The level of care required for residents with acute conditions, (2) a standard resident assessment instrument, (3) specialized care needs for residents with certain conditions, (4) a rate differential reflecting cost differences in different geographical regions of the state, (5) a pay-for-performance adjustment, and (6) revisions to the property reimbursement component of nursing home rates. Statement of Purpose: To provide nursing home Medicaid reimbursement commensurate with the cost of caring for residents with a variety of health conditions and diagnoses.
