AN ACT CONCERNING TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 53a-192a of the general statutes be amended to provide that trafficking in persons includes recruiting, harboring, transporting, providing, obtaining, patronizing or soliciting of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act and increasing penalties to recognize the severity of the crime.

Statement of Purpose: 

To align the Connecticut definition of trafficking in persons with federal definitions of trafficking.
