AN ACT CONCERNING NOTICE TO THE POLICE OF DATA SECURITY BREACHES INVOLVING THE DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subsection (b) of section 36a-701b of the general statutes be amended to require a person who conducts business in this state who provides notice of any breach of security regarding computerized data containing personal information to a resident, to also provide notice of such breach to the local police department or the Division of State Police within the Department of Emergency Services and Police Protection. Statement of Purpose: To require that a person who owns, licenses or maintains computerized data that includes personal information notify the police in the event of a breach of security relating to such data.
