AN ACT CONCERNING THE ASSAULT OF POLICE OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS OR EMERGENCY MEDICAL PERSONNEL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 53a-167c of the general statutes be amended to increase the penalty for any person who, with intent to prevent a reasonably identifiable police officer, firefighter or employee of an emergency medical service organization from performing his or her duties, assaults such police officer, firefighter or employee.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the penalty for assaulting a reasonably identifiable police officer, firefighter or employee of an emergency medical service organization from performing his or her services.
