2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE SAFE USE OF ELECTRONIC DEFENSE WEAPONS BY POLICE OFFICERS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That (1) section 54-1t of the general statutes be amended to (A) require the standardized form for the annual report regarding the use of electronic defense weapons submitted by law enforcement agencies to include whether the person on whom such weapon was used was arrested and the criminal charge filed, if any, the physical condition of the person upon the police officer's arrival to the scene and after such weapon was used, whether the person was transported to a hospital after such weapon was used, whether the police officer's supervisor determined the use of such weapon was justified, and the duration of each use of such weapon on the person, (B) require the information necessary to complete the annual report regarding each use of such weapon be completed at the same time the use-of-force report and case incident report is completed, and (C) require use-of-force reports and case incident reports be submitted with the annual report, and (2) section 7-277b of the general statutes be amended to permit municipalities to seek reimbursement for the purchase of electronic defense weapons with recording equipment for use by sworn members of such municipality's police department.
