AN ACT CONCERNING REAR-FACING CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS FOR CHILDREN TRANSPORTED IN MOTOR VEHICLES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subdivision (2) of subsection (d) of section 14-100a of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person who transports a child under two years of age in a motor vehicle on the highways of this state shall provide and require such child to ride rear-facing in a child restraint system, unless such child weighs more than forty pounds. Statement of Purpose: To protect children in the state by requiring any person who transports a child under two years of age to use a rear-facing child restraint system, unless the child weights more than forty pounds.
