AN ACT CONCERNING A TAX CREDIT FOR START-UPS AND SMALL BUSINESSES THAT HIRE RECENT GRADUATES FROM HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to establish a tax credit for start-up and small businesses in the state that hire individuals not later than two years after the date of their graduation from a higher education program, such credit being in an amount equal to a certain percentage of each individual's salary, capped at a fixed amount per employer, which may be claimed for the first three years of each individual's employment. Statement of Purpose: To encourage the hiring of new graduates and the expansion of businesses in Connecticut.
