AN ACT CONCERNING THE EXPANSION OF ELIGIBLE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subparagraphs (B) and (C) of subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of section 10-16p of the general statutes be amended to make said subparagraphs applicable to 2020 and 2023, respectively, and to permit a person who holds a bachelor's degree with a concentration in early childhood education from any accredited institution of higher education to satisfy the staff qualifications requirement; and that section 10-520 of the general statutes be repealed.

Statement of Purpose: 

To expand the number of eligible educators who can work in early childhood education programs in the state.
