COOK, 65th Dist. REP. SANCHEZ, 25th Dist. REP. LAVIELLE, 143rd Dist. REP. KOKORUDA, 101st Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING THE EXPANSION OF ELIGIBLE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subparagraphs (B) and (C) of subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of section 10-16p of the general statutes be amended to make said subparagraphs applicable to 2020 and 2023, respectively, and to permit a person who holds a bachelor's degree with a concentration in early childhood education from any accredited institution of higher education to satisfy the staff qualifications requirement; and that section 10-520 of the general statutes be repealed. Statement of Purpose: To expand the number of eligible educators who can work in early childhood education programs in the state.
