AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE COMMITTED BY MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 926 of the general statutes be amended to extend to ten years the statutes of limitations applicable to an alleged act of gross negligence committed by a municipal employee and to limit recoveries attributable to the gross negligence of a municipal employee to actual damages.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow victims of acts of gross negligence committed by a municipal employee the ability to recover actual monetary damages.
