AN ACT CONCERNING A CONNECTICUT SMALL BUSINESS RETIREMENT MARKETPLACE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to repeal the state-administered retirement plan enacted under public act 16-29 and create, through federal and private funding, a Connecticut Small Business Retirement Marketplace for certain eligible employers that will be financially self-sustaining through assessments or user fees for financial firms that offer products through the marketplace.

Statement of Purpose:

To replace the current state-administered retirement system with a market-based opportunity for enhanced retirement savings based on the Washington state model.
