AN ACT CONCERNING STATE AND FEDERAL WAGE AND HOUR LAWS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Create more consistency between state and federal wage and hour laws by adopting federal definitions and exemptions for (A) individuals employed in a bona fide executive, administrative or professional capacity, (B) highly compensated employees, (C) computer employees, and (D) learned professionals, and (2) allow employers to withhold the pay of those employees specified in subdivision (1) that are suspended for violating a written workplace rule prohibiting harassment or workplace violence.

Statement of Purpose: 

To create more consistency between state and federal wage and hour laws.
