AN ACT CONCERNING A MEDICAID STATE PLAN AMENDMENT TO COMBINE RATES FOR HOMEMAKER AND COMPANION SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than September 1, 2017, the Commissioner of Social Services shall seek federal approval for a Medicaid state plan amendment to combine homemaker services and companion services, as defined in section 20-670 of the general statutes, into one covered service for purposes of setting a rate of reimbursement for providers of such services. If such state plan amendment is approved, the commissioner shall adjust the care plan for any Medicaid recipient receiving such covered service to ensure budget neutrality.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
