2424 AN ACT REQUIRING AN ANNUAL REPORT ON SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BENEFITS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. Section 17b-105a of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (d) as follows (Effective from passage):

3030 (NEW) (d) Not later than February 1, 2018, and annually thereafter, the Commissioner of Social Services shall submit a report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to human services stating for the previous calendar year: (1) The number of able-bodied adults without dependents who have exceeded the three-month participation limit for supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, (2) the geographical region of the state where such adults reside, and (3) the reasons why such adults were allowed to exceed the limit. The commissioner shall also include in the report recommendations to reduce the number of able-bodied adults without dependents who exceed the participation limit.
