AN ACT ESTABLISHING PARITY FOR OIL AND GAS LEAK REPAIRS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall require each propane gas dealer and each gas company in the state to respond to and remediate any gas leak for which such dealer or company is responsible not later than forty-eight hours after such dealer or company receives notice of such leak.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish parity between gas companies and home heating oil dealers for response and remediation times when there is a leak of their respective products.
