3636 RESOLUTION CONVENING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN SPECIAL SESSION ON JANUARY 5, 2018.

4040 WHEREAS, we, the members of the General Assembly, pursuant to Article Third of the Amendments to the Constitution of Connecticut, section 2-6 of the general statutes and Rule 33 of the joint rules of the Senate and the House of Representatives, judge the convening of a special session necessary based on the following fact, to wit: The need to address the issue of eligibility for and funding of the Medicare Savings Program; and

4242 WHEREAS, we, the members of this assembly, believe that legislative action to address the issue of eligibility for and funding of the Medicare Savings Program should be considered prior to the next regular session.

4444 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the members of this assembly, find that the convening of the General Assembly in special session is necessary as of this date for consideration of such legislative action; and

4646 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon the adoption of this resolution by both houses of the General Assembly, said houses shall complete their organization and proceed to the consideration of such legislative action.
