AN ACT EXPANDING ACCESS BY HEARING IMPAIRED PERSONS TO MOVIE THEATERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 46a of the general statutes be amended to require movie theater companies with more than two locations in the state to provide open-captioned screenings of digital films during at least two showings per week and, upon request, audio description of any film equipped with such technology.

Statement of Purpose: 

To expand access to movie theaters for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.
