AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION AND OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Consumer Protection to examine all of the occupational licenses it issues and provide the General Assembly with recommendations for removing licensing requirements that are no longer necessary and recommendations for streamlining the remaining licensure procedures.

Statement of Purpose: 

To streamline occupational licensing requirements in order to remove barriers for employment while still maintaining important health and safety protections for consumers.
