AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE REGISTRATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND ESTABLISHMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND OPERATION STANDARDS FOR SUCH VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) authorize the registration of neighborhood electric vehicles, (2) direct the Department of Motor Vehicles to establish equipment standards for such vehicles, and (3) permit the operation of such vehicles on highways with posted speed limits of thirty miles per hour or less.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide registration and equipment standards for neighborhood electric vehicles and to permit their operation on highways with posted speed limits of thirty miles per hour or less.
