Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. Section 3 of number 119 of the special acts of 1893, as amended by number 460 of the special acts of 1925, number 452 of the special acts of 1943, number 243 of the special acts of 1953, special act 73-28, section 1 of special act 82-35 and section 13 of public act 12-2 of the June special session, is amended to read as follows (Effective from passage): The estate, property and fund which may be held by said corporation for the uses and purposes herein before expressed shall, with the rents, income and profits thereof, be exempted from all taxation, provided, that for purposes of property taxation, in the event that the otherwise taxable real and personal estate held at any one time by said corporation shall, [not amount to more than] on or after October 1, 2017, exceed twenty-five million dollars in assessed value, such excess shall not be exempted pursuant to this act. Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect said corporation's right to pursue any exemption from taxation otherwise available pursuant to the Connecticut general statutes.
