AN ACT CONCERNING CHARGES FOR VACANT NURSING HOME BEDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to reduce the fees charged for reserving the bed of a resident who is a recipient of medical assistance and hospitalized for a maximum of seven days under section 19a-537 of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To eliminate double billing for patients who pay for both a vacant nursing home bed and a hospital stay.
