2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TASK FORCE TO EXAMINE THE OVERUSE OF THE FAMILY COURT SYSTEM AND THE DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS THAT SUCH OVERUSE HAS ON A PARTY WHO HAS NO LEGAL REPRESENTATION.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That a task force be established to examine the overuse of the family court system in cases where one party has no access to legal representation. The task force shall examine issues that include, but are not limited to, whether (1) overuse of the family court system results in decisions based upon economics as opposed to what is in the best interest of the family unit, and (2) domestic violence victims are subject to additional abuse as a result by an overuse of the family court system by a perpetrator of domestic violence.
