AN ACT CONCERNING WORKERS' COMPENSATION COVERAGE FOR INJURIES SUSTAINED BY PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANTS EMPLOYED DIRECTLY BY CONSUMERS IN STATE-FUNDED PROGRAMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Social Services to administer a workers' compensation program through its fiscal intermediary for personal care attendants employed directly by consumers in state-funded programs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To extend workers' compensation protections to home care consumers and their personal care attendants.
