AN ACT CONCERNING THE CREATION OF AN INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAM TEACHER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to require each school that has any students with individualized education programs enrolled at such school to assign one school employee to serve as the individualized education program teacher for such school, and such school employee shall have no classroom teaching assignment and be responsible for all administrative duties associated with the provision of special education and related services at such school. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce the burden on school districts of complying with certain special education requirements.
