AN ACT PROHIBITING BIAS IN STATE MASTERY EXAMINATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to (1) provide a valid, fair and reliable estimate of a student's overall performance in a subject area relative to grade-appropriate standards, (2) prevent supplanting of academic standards and ensure a diverse curricula, and (3) prohibit the use of mastery examination results as the sole indicator for student promotion or graduation.

Statement of Purpose: 

To make revisions relating to the state mastery examination.
