AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF FINANCE FOR A MUNICIPALITY TO MAKE CHANGES TO AN EDUCATION BUDGET PRIOR TO FINAL APPROVAL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That, notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes or any special act, municipal charter, home rule ordinance or other ordinance, the board of finance in each town having a board of finance, the board of selectman in each town having no board of finance or the authority making appropriations for the school district for each town shall be authorized to review and make reductions and line-item rescissions to any budget adopted by the local board of education prior to final approval of such budget by the town.
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize the board of finance for a town to make changes to any budget adopted by the local board of education prior to final approval of such budget.
