2424 AN ACT CONCERNING EMBALMERS AND FUNERAL DIRECTORS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) Notwithstanding the provisions of section 20-227 of the general statutes, the Connecticut Board of Examiners of Embalmers and Funeral Directors shall not take any disciplinary action against a licensed embalmer or funeral director pursuant to subdivision (1) of said section as a result of any alleged action by the licensee in connection with his or her licensing examination that was approved by the Department of Public Health, in consultation with said board, under section 20-213 or 20-217 of the general statutes, if (1) the licensee (A) graduated from an institution of higher education or private occupational school that was accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education at the time of the licensee's graduation from such institution or school, and (B) received a passing grade on such examination, and (2) the examination services provider did not invalidate such passing grade on or before six months after the date the licensee took such examination.
