2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) The Board of Regents for Higher Education shall establish a waiver process that authorizes a regional community-technical college to waive the requirement that an applicant seeking employment in a manufacturing technology program offered at such regional community-technical college hold an advanced degree if such applicant has relevant employment experience, as prescribed by the board. For the purposes of this section, "advanced degree" means a postgraduate degree, including a master's degree or doctorate. Nothing in this section shall be construed to impair or alter the provisions of any collective bargaining agreement relating to the conditions or credentials pertaining to employment.
