AN ACT ESTABLISHING A REGISTRY OF DATA ON AMNIOTIC FLUID EMBOLISM OCCURRENCES. 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2018) On or before January 1, 2019, the Department of Public Health shall establish a registry of non-personally-identifiable data on incidents of amniotic fluid embolism. Each hospital, as defined in section 19a-490 of the general statutes, shall make available to the registry data concerning the diagnosis or treatment of amniotic fluid embolism in the hospital. The data contained in such registry may be used by the department and researchers authorized by the department for purposes of evaluating potential treatments for amniotic fluid embolism patients. The data contained in the registry shall not be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, as defined in section 1-200 of the general statutes. The department may adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to implement the provisions of this section.
