2424 AN ACT CONCERNING HIGHER EDUCATION FUNDING.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Office of Higher Education, in consultation with the institutions of the state system of higher education and the constituent unit boards of trustees, shall review the current means of funding higher education in the state to determine whether such education is being provided by the most cost-efficient, equitable and effective means. On or before October 1, 2018, the executive director of the Office of Higher Education shall submit, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the results of the review to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies and higher education. The results shall include recommendations for revisions to funding for higher education and any legislation necessary to implement such revisions.
