AN ACT CONCERNING THE CREATION OF PATHWAYS IN EXISTING ALTERNATE ROUTE TO CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS TO ASSIST PERSONS WITH MASTER'S DEGREES IN SOCIAL WORK TO BECOME TEACHERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2018) The Department of Education shall collaborate with providers of existing alternate route to certification programs to incorporate pathways to certification in such alternate route to certification programs for persons who hold a master's degree from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or, for persons educated outside the United States or its territories, an educational program deemed equivalent by the council.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
