AN ACT PROHIBITING SEISMIC SURVEYING IN LONG ISLAND
SOUND.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the practice of 1
seismic surveying in Long Island Sound, which is used in connection 2
with gas and oil exploration. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To protect marine mammals and their ability to echo-locate, feed,
breed and communicate.
