24 | 24 | That chapter 801a of the general statutes be amended to provide 1 | |
25 | 25 | that a Probate Court may order a person with a substance use disorder 2 | |
26 | 26 | or mental disability to submit to a medical evaluation, not to exceed a 3 | |
27 | 27 | period of seventy-two hours, when (1) such person refuses to consent 4 | |
28 | 28 | to, or is incapable of consenting to, voluntary treatment, (2) such 5 | |
29 | 29 | person is incapable of residing on his or her own and presents a 6 | |
30 | 30 | danger to self or others, and (3) less restrictive treatment alternatives 7 | |
