2019 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO INCREASE
2120 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNI TIES FOR PERSONS REC OVERING

2322 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2625 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
2726 to investigate strategies to increase employment opportunities for 2
2827 persons recovering from substance abuse. 3
2928 (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 4
3029 (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 5
3130 (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 6
3231 (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 7

3433 (4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 9
3534 (5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 10

4341 (6) One appointed by the minority leader of the Senate; and 12
4442 (7) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 13
4543 (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 14
4644 (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 15
4745 of the General Assembly. 16
4846 (d) All appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 17
4947 thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall be 18
5048 filled by the appointing authority. 19
5149 (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president 20
5250 pro tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force 21
5351 from among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall 22
5452 schedule the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not 23
5553 later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 24
5654 (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 25
5755 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor shall 26
5856 serve as administrative staff of the task force. 27
5957 (g) Not later than January 1, 2020, the task force shall submit a 28
6058 report on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing 29
6159 committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 30
6260 relating to labor, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of 31
6361 the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date that it 32
6462 submits such report or January 1, 2020, whichever is later. 33
