AN ACT REQUIRING BACK SEAT PASSENGERS IN A MOTOR VEHICLE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 14-100a of the general statutes be amended to require 1 any back seat passenger in a motor vehicle to wear a seat safety belt 2 while such vehicle is being operated on any highway in the state. 3 Statement of Purpose: To promote safety and prevent back seat passengers from becoming projectiles and endangering front seat passengers by requiring back seat passengers to wear seat belts.
