AN ACT LOWERING THE EXCESS COST THRESHOLD FOR SPECIAL
EDUCATION AND FULL REIMBURSEMENT FOR SPECIAL
EDUCATION COSTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 10-76g of the general statutes be 1
amended to reduce the reimbursement threshold for special education 2
costs from four and one-half times the average per pupil cost to three 3
times the average per pupil cost and remove the cap so that the grant 4
will be fully funded. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To revise the manner in which school districts receive reimbursement
under the special education excess cost grant.
