AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE OF MAMMOGRAMS FOR CERTAIN WOMEN AT INCREASED RISK FOR BREAST CANCER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That sections 38a-503 and 38a-530 of the general statutes be 1 amended to require health insurance coverage for mammograms, not 2 less frequently than once annually and upon the recommendation of a 3 licensed physician, for each covered woman who has (1) a personal or 4 family history of breast cancer, (2) a personal history of breast disease 5 diagnosed through biopsy as benign, or (3) not given birth before 6 attaining thirty years of age. 7 Statement of Purpose: To require health insurance coverage for mammograms, not less frequently than once annually and upon the recommendation of a licensed physician, for each covered woman who has (1) a personal or family history of breast cancer, (2) a personal history of breast disease diagnosed through biopsy as benign, or (3) not given birth before attaining thirty years of age.
