AN ACT PERMITTING NURSING HOMES TO INSTALL VIDEO CAMERAS IN THE ROOMS OF NONVERBAL RESIDENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to permit nursing 1 homes to install video cameras in the room of a nonverbal resident at 2 the request and expense of such resident or their family and require 3 that the nursing homes be notified of any suspected abuse or neglect of 4 the resident seen on the video by the resident's family. 5 Statement of Purpose: To increase the safety of nonverbal nursing home residents by enabling nursing homes to install video cameras in the room of a nonverbal resident when requested by the resident or a family member of the resident and at the expense of the resident.
