2423 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2726 Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 53-341b of the general statutes is 1
2827 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective 2
2928 October 1, 2019): 3
3029 (b) The provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall not apply to 4
3130 the sale or delivery of body armor to (1) a sworn member or 5
3231 authorized official of an organized local police department, the 6
3332 Division of State Police within the Department of Emergency Services 7
3433 and Public Protection, the Division of Criminal Justice, the Department 8
3534 of Correction, the Board of Pardons and Paroles or the Department of 9
3635 Motor Vehicles, (2) an authorized official of a municipality or the 10
3736 Department of Administrative Services that purchases body armor on 11
3837 behalf of an organized local police department, the Division of State 12
3938 Police within the Department of Emergency Services and Public 13

4745 Correction, the Board of Pardons and Paroles or the Department of 15
4846 Motor Vehicles, (3) an authorized official of the Judicial Branch who 16
4947 purchases body armor on behalf of a probation officer or a judicial 17
5048 marshal, [or] (4) a member of the National Guard or the armed forces 18
5149 reserve, (5) a firefighter or an authorized official of a municipal fire 19
5250 department or volunteer fire company, or (6) an advanced emergency 20
5351 medical technician, as defined in section 20-206jj, an emergency 21
5452 medical responder, as defined in section 20-206jj, an emergency 22
5553 medical technician, as defined in section 20-206jj, a paramedic, as 23
5654 defined in section 20-206jj, or an authorized official of an emergency 24
5755 medical service organization licensed or certified pursuant to chapter 25
