AN ACT PERMITTING REDUCTIONS TO THE MINIMUM BUDGET
REQUIREMENT WHEN A SCHOOL DISTRICT IS NO LONGER
INCURRING CERTAIN SPECIAL EDUCATION COSTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-262j of the general statutes be amended to allow a 1
local or regional board of education to reduce its budgeted 2
appropriation for education in an amount equal to the amount of any 3
special education costs paid by such board in the prior fiscal year for a 4
student who is no longer enrolled in a school under the jurisdiction of 5
such board. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To allow a board of education to reduce its minimum budget
requirement when it is no longer responsible for paying certain special
education costs.
