AN ACT INCREASING FINES AND PENALTIES FOR THE ILLEGAL SALE OF TOBACCO, ELECTRONIC NICOTINE DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND VAPOR PRODUCTS TO UNDERAGE PERSONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to (1) increase the fines and 1 penalties levied on anyone who sells tobacco, an electronic nicotine 2 delivery system or a vapor product to an underage person, and (2) 3 require any such fines or penalties collected to be used for anti-vaping 4 and anti-tobacco education programs for students in the state and the 5 establishment of a grant program for the installation of vape detectors 6 in public schools. 7 Statement of Purpose: To increase fines and penalties for the illegal sale of tobacco, electronic nicotine delivery systems and vapor products to underage persons, and to use such revenue for anti-vaping and anti-tobacco education programs and the creation of a grant program to make vape detectors available to schools.
