AN ACT PERMITTING REDUCTIONS TO THE MINIMUM BUDGET
REQUIREMENT FOR BOARDS OF EDUCATION THAT EXPERIENCE
REDUCTIONS TO THEIR ECS FUNDING DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 10-262j of the general statutes be amended to allow, for 1
the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, and each fiscal year thereafter, a 2
local or regional board of education to reduce its budgeted 3
appropriation for education in an amount equal to the amount of any 4
reductions made to the equalization aid grant that such board is 5
entitled to receive under the provisions of section 10-262h of the 6
general statutes and paid under section 10-262i of the general statutes 7
during the fiscal year. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To permit a board of education to reduce its minimum budget
requirement in an amount equal to the amount of any reductions made
to its education cost-sharing grant during the fiscal year.
