AN ACT PERMITTING MUNICIPALITIES TO PROHIBIT THE
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN CERTAIN
CIRCUMSTANCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to permit any 1
municipality that has made a good faith effort to develop a specific 2
area in the municipality the option to prohibit the construction of new 3
affordable housing in such area, provided such good faith effort was 4
made prior to any application for such construction. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To permit municipalities that have made good faith efforts to develop
specific areas in such municipalities the option of prohibiting new
affordable housing in those areas.
