AN ACT CONCERNING A MINIMUM TERM OF IMPRISONMENT FOR A CONVICTION FOR INJURY OR RISK OF INJURY OF A CHILD. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 53-21 of the general statutes be amended to provide 1 that any person convicted of injury or risk of injury of a child serve a 2 term of at least thirty consecutive days imprisonment, which term may 3 not be suspended or reduced in any manner. 4 Statement of Purpose: To protect children by increasing the penalty for injury or risk of injury to a child by requiring that thirty consecutive days of imprisonment may not be suspended or reduced in any manner.
