1818 AN ACT PROMOTING VETERAN-OWNED BUSINESSES.
1919 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2020 Assembly convened:

2222 That chapter 58 of the general statutes be amended to require 1
2323 awarding authorities to (1) in determining the lowest responsible 2
2424 qualified bidder for an open market order or contract, give a price 3
2525 preference of ten per cent for the purchase of goods or services from a 4
2626 veteran-owned business, and (2) set aside, in each fiscal year, five per 5
2727 cent of the total value of all contracts let by such awarding authority 6
2828 for award to veteran-owned contractors. 7
2929 Statement of Purpose:
3030 To give veteran-owned businesses a ten per cent price preference on
3131 state contracts and set aside five per cent of all such contracts for
3232 award to such businesses.
