AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF STEP THERAPY FOR CERTAIN PRESCRIPTION DRUGS PRESCRIBED TO TREAT CANCER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit each 1 insurance company, hospital service corporation, medical service 2 corporation, health care center or other entity that delivers, issues for 3 delivery, renews, amends or continues certain health insurance policies 4 in this state that include a prescription drug benefit from using step 5 therapy for any covered prescription drug prescribed to treat cancer. 6 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit the use of step therapy for certain covered prescription drugs prescribed to treat cancer.
